Trinity

It still gets me, I say to myself often "I cannot believe we named our daughter Trinity".  It gets me because her name is so full of complex meaning that even the scholors cannot fathom.  And yet, we have a daughter named after this mysterious doctorine of God.
She herself is so very complex, full of life and feirce in her beleifs.  We recently had a guest in our home from Germany.  Trinity wanted to show this guest, whom she had just met, her room.  They had decorated their bedroom earlier that day with all the glory of Christmas itself.  Beautiful streamers filled the ceiling, snowflakes floated down, and ribbons graced fancy packages.  This sweet visitor was lead up the stairs and into the room and greeted with a ta-da!  "Isn't it beautiful?" Trinity asked. The guest looked around, and in her heavy accent named off all the things that adorned the room.
"You have presents, and snowflakes, and snowmen, and cookies.  But, where's Santa?  You can't have Christmas without Santa, that is what Christmas is all about".
Trinity looked at the guest, puzzled.  Then the glare of frustration turned to the face of saddness and she simply said "oh, you don't know about Jesus, It's really all about Jesus.  He is what makes Christmas, Christmas."
You see, sometimes Trinity in all her comlex Trinity-world self is misunderstood.  She has a heart for connecting with people and not an ounce of timidity.  She never holds back on telling you what is truth in her world.  She will be five this week and I pray this girl continues to grow stronger in her faith daily.  That she continues to share Jesus with those around her and that she won't be held back by fear of what the world may say.  I know I can learn alot from this brave child of mine, and maybe you can to.  Let us not be bashful about the story of Jesus, let us proclaim His birth until He returns again.
