The Big Story

The hot topic of the week for The Shepherd's fish appears to be about sharing a bit of our individual stories.  Happy, sad, hopeful, faith-building; each of us has a part to share. Hopefully as we open up and tell a bit of our stories, someone will find a ray of hope, something to brighten her day, or simply know that she is not the only one with that particular struggle.

Last week I shared a pic on Facebook that stated that there were libraries where you could "check out" a person for the purpose of listening to their story.  I thought it a very cool idea.  I love to listen to the stories of others, and people like to talk about themselves.  I have learned so much in my profession by listening to the stories of my patients, and some of those conversations have impacted me for life. I noticed that a few of my friends commented that their stories would not interest anyone.  I encouraged them that their stories were important, even vital, to the big story.  God is writing that one, and He is weaving our individual stories into the tapestry of that story, which would be incomplete if one were missing.   I am looking forward to hearing more of the stories from this group, and sharing more of my own as well.
