Nashville News

Last time I posted, I was sharing about my husband traveling to Nashville to promote the band and their CD, and was waiting to hear the outcome of the meetings as well as the spur of the moment concert that he attended that kept him there an extra night.  I was not disappointed!

God's timing and favor was definitely on this trip, and despite the short notice, Philip was able to meet with several important people in the music business who were able to supply a lot of good information and some vital direction for next steps.  The next trip will be even more productive, as we will be able to set appointments in advance with the ones he was unable to connect with.  However, that being said, the appointments that he did get were definitely providential.  He met with the manager of some well-known Christian musicians who asked if Philip was willing to compromise on lyrics to "tone down" the message in order to try to get a song on the radio.  Philip thought the meeting was over when he answered "No" and explained that the message was more important than getting a particular song on the radio, and that he wasn't willing to water down the message just to make it more palatable.  The man simply smiled and said, "Good."  After that, the meeting ended up lasting two hours and the man took a page of notes about the band and about a new song that Philip is developing, and he told Philip "That song needs to be written and released!"  He emailed Philip the next day as well to follow up on some information for the band.

At the last minute concert, Philip ended up meeting and speaking to Phil Keaggy, Rick Cua and his drummer, who are good friends with a friend of mine from this area.  Again, Philip was able to connect with people whom he had tried to contact prior to his trip, and on a more personal level.  As I mentioned before, there are plans for a return trip to Nashville in a few months to see what else is in store for Longing For Eden!  Stay tuned; God is up to something!
