Family Time

We have spent the last week with my stepdaughters and their families.  It has been a very relaxing time with each of them, once we got the 12+ hour drives out of the way to each destination.  It was the first time that we have been able to spend more than a few hours with the younger daughter and her husband, and we truly enjoyed the time that we were able to spend getting better acquainted with our son-in-law, and I loved getting to know my stepdaughter better.  When we left, we both left a piece of our hearts behind.  
At the home of the eldest, where we have visited quite a few times due to the closer proximity to our home, we have been getting a "grandbaby fix" with our youngest granddaughter.  I love how each of my stepchildren have been so accepting of me, and whenever we pay a visit, it always feels so laid back and restful, and although I have only been part of their family for a couple of years, I feel almost as if I've known them forever.  I am so grateful for the love and acceptance that I have received, and I always want them to feel the same from me.
